The Site is operated by The Associated: Jewish Community Federation of Baltimore (“The Associated” and, together with the JAA, “we”, or “us”). The intent of this privacy statement is to demonstrate our commitment to your privacy and to disclose the privacy practices of the JAA and the www.jewishabilities.org website (the “Site”).
What information does the Site collect and how is the information used?
You do not have to provide any personal information to read the content of our Site. However, you will provide personal information when you create a user account, complete a Parent Match or Support Parent application, sign up to attend an event, sign up to receive community notifications or alerts, or contact us for more information. Some examples of information we collect include: your name, address, e-mail address, phone number, disability information, birthday of person with a disability. Any credit card payment processing is handled by a third party, and we do not receive or store any credit card information.
We use your personal information to match parents or other family members within our support network, provide our services, and/or to respond to your request for information. We may also use the information to contact you if there is a problem with your user account or match application, for feedback on our services and/or to contact you for marketing purposes. For example, you may receive periodic e-mails, direct mailings or telephone calls from us with information on our upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive such mailings or calls, please let us know by sending an e-mail to the address below or click “unsubscribe” as instructed in any email from us.

Do we collect information from children under age 13?
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.
We may also use web beacons, clear gif technology, action tags or other technologies to collect aggregate Site visitation data by tracking how users navigate to and through the Site. We may also use this technology to track the delivery of HTML email messages. Web beacons cannot be declined when delivered using a regular web page, but they can be refused when delivered by email. If you do not wish to receive web beacons by email, you will need to disable HTML images or select text only for emails received with your email software.
We may also track activity on our Site using log files stored on our servers, and collect information, including IP addresses, browser types and versions, geographic information, pages viewed and devices used to interact with the Site. To whom do we disclose information?
The personal information of any person that participates in our support network will be provided to organizations with whom we collaborate or with whom we contract in different locales to operate and oversee the support network in that locale. For example, if you submit information seeking a match in the Baltimore support network, your information will be shared with the Jewish Community Center of Greater Baltimore. Personal information will also be shared with the person in our support network who is selected as a person’s support network “match.”
We will divulge personal information to courts, law enforcement and other governmental agencies and third parties when required to do so or when we in good faith believe it is necessary in order to comply with legal obligations
In the event that this Site or substantially all of our assets are acquired, merged or reorganized, user information may be transferred to another party.

This web site contains links to other sites not associated with the JAA or The Associated. This policy statement only addresses the use and disclosure of information we collect from you. Although you may link to other sites or third parties via the Site, we are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties or the content of linked sites not associated with the JAA or The Associated. We encourage our website visitors to be aware when they leave our site and to read the privacy policies of each and every website that collects personally identifiable information.

The security of your personal information is important to us. We employ various security measures to protect against the loss of information that the Site collects. However, you should keep in mind that this Site is run on software, hardware and networks, any component of which may, from time to time, require maintenance or experience problems or breaches of security. No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is one hundred percent secure and we cannot guarantee it’s absolute security. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your username and password and are responsible for any unauthorized use.
